There’s something magical about a family photoshoot by the sea, and this Dorset family photography session with Jess, Arran, and their baby Callie at Ringstead Bay was truly special. The rugged coastline, golden sands, and soft sea breeze created the perfect setting to capture natural and heartfelt moments of this beautiful family.
A Coastal Adventure at Ringstead Bay
Ringstead Bay, with its breathtaking views and unspoiled beauty, is one of my favourite locations for Dorset family photography. It offers a mix of stunning cliffs, pebble beaches, and rolling countryside, making it a dream spot for capturing relaxed and authentic family moments. As we arrived, the sun was beginning to set, casting a golden glow over the landscape—perfect for creating warm, timeless images. Not only did I capture these images of my good friends but I secretly filmed them together so I could capture the voices, the noises and the natural interaction and surprised them with their final gallery with a small film of the sessions which I love.
Capturing Natural Family Moments
Jess and Arran were keen for a relaxed, documentary-style shoot, and little Callie was an absolute star. At just a few months old, he was full of curiosity, smiling at the sound of the waves and snuggling into Jess and Arran as we captured those intimate, loving moments.
We started with a gentle walk along the shoreline, letting them interact naturally while I captured their joy and connection. Some of my favourite shots from the session include Callie and that infectious smile, I mean, you just can’t not smile looking at them!
